On Gigs, Recording, and Radio...
Haven't left a blog for a while... been busy!
Here's what Joe says about the gig in Accrington:
Hello there music lovers!
This is just a quick message to let everyone know about our long awaited show at the attic in accrington. It's a personal favourite venue of ours as it is a small venue with massive character! We haven't played there for over six months and what better night to make our return than supporting Bonehead!?
For those who don't know, he was the guitarist for none other than Oasis from the very begining! He played many instruments on albums such as 'What's The Story..' and 'Definately Maybe' and was proclaimed as the one who jumped in when things kicked off between Noel and Liam. Fast forward almost ten years to now and he has teamed up with Pete Mcleod, a Glaswegian singer songwriter with a sound remenisant of Richard Ashcroft.
I don't know about you, but I can't wait! In fact, I've got a semi on just thinkinng about it!
Throw in support from Pretend Girlfriend and us (obviously) and it's set to be a belter!
We have a brand new song to test drive on the crowd (which we will be recording in a couple of weeks time - cd out in December) and we are physically itching to get back out and gigging!
If you would care to join us, please email anewbreedofmonkey@ntlworld.com. It's going down on Friday 14th November and as usual we will be putting on a coach for next to nothing! Tickets are only £6.
See you there! Joe
Also, we have a high profile gig on 5th December at THE RITZ in Manchester, alonside Little Volcanos, The Ringing Tree, and Elivation. Tckets are £7 in advance and we have them now! We will be running transport to and from this gig at nominal charge. Book now to avoid dissapointment.
Going back into Mark Jones MJM Studio in a couple of weeks. We have new songs to lay down - The Man Who Played God - In Fashion - and maybe one more - Brother - depending if we have the time and the cash! Check out the new video of The Man Who Played God recorded live at Birmingham Carling Academy, and let us know what you think to the song. Its a free preview and may cause you to want a copy of the CD/DVD double package we're releasing on 1st December!
Our song A Million Doors has been playlisted on Tom Robinsons BBC6 Radio show '6 Music Introducing'. We're not sure when its going out but when it does we'll podcast the show so everyone can listen and hear what he has to say about the song!
